Day 6 of the week long celebrations of Global Entrepreneurship Week a project of Kauffman Foundation USA, the topic of “Access to Finance” went great with the Opening Speech from US Ambassador H.E. Richard E. Hoagland. He shared the stories of world’s most successful entrepreneurs to highlight the importance of entrepreneurship in Pakistan. He shared the importance of funds needed to start up business ventures and he mentioned that the US Government is working aggressively in this regard. Mr. Ambassador said, “Business makes country prosperous” , “We are also working very closely with educational institutions, corporate organizations and the mentors to promote entrepreneurship in the country. We are supporting and even funding Pvt Ltd. Companies to start up and enhance their business”
Panel discussion session of the event was moderated by Mr. Ather Hameed. He moderated the panel of Wahaj us Siraj-Nayatel, Agha Ali Javad-NRSP, Imran Shauket-JPL, Inez Wijngaarde-UNIDO and Ted Heisler- USAID for the discussion on how students and future entrepreneurs should get funds for their business ideas. They shared different funding options and they invited students to share their business ideas. Panelists also mentioned that one should try to start from a small venture and work on it with consistency, as almost 90% of businesses fail during the first three years of start-up.
Networking session in the end lasts long as the students were directly engaged with the panelists members to be their mentors.
