A fashion graduate and now a business student, Sundas is as much a fashionista as a young enthusiastic entrepreneur with a flair for management.

After finishing her bachelors degree in Fashion Design, her focus remained with student education and counseling. She worked as an instructor in Art & Design Department of Iqra University Islamabad Campus and also headed its Placement Office. Switching jobs, she went to work with Beacon House School System Margallah Campus, teaching Design and Textiles to A-Level students and also worked as a career counselor.

Sensing her aptitude in business, she enrolled herself in a business management program and alongside that remained active in entrepreneurial activities such as operating a small fashion retail business online by the name of Eve. by Sundas.

Always being an enthusiast for social work and development, she volunteered to give skill-development workshop to the female students of Dhaka Ahsania Mission Pakiatan’s vocational center in her area of expertise i.e Fashion and Textile www.ahsaniamission.com.pk. Dhaka Ahsania Mission is a non-government development organization based in Dhaka, Bangladesh with sub offices in Pakistan, UK and USA www.ahsaniamission.org.bd. She taught the students different techniques to make prints on textile for fabric decoration. This skill would in turn help the women manufacture textile products for sale e.g women and children clothing and home accessories.

Later, she joined the Deputy Country Director of DAMP, Ms, Mehnaz Ansar Khan in a tour to Bangladesh where she visited numerous project areas of Dhaka Ahsania Mission such as skill development centers, vocational centers, educational centers, health care centers and workshops. The purpose was to analyze and implement their way of working here in Pakistan. Working with one of their fashion design units, she designed a panel of women blouses which later on went into production to be sold in their retail outlet ‘Nogordola’.

She is a permanent volunteer of the team working for Kauffman Foundation’s Global Entrepreneurship Week Pakistan headed by Mr. Kashif Khan. GEW Pakistan works to promote entrepreneurship in Pakistan www.gewpakistan.org. She has helped organize various entrepreneurial events for GEW Pakistan. The most important being the week long series of events in November 2012 and 2013, where she acted as the host and presenter. The different areas discussed during these events were; the access to finance, social entrepreneurship, women entrepreneurship and franchise business in Pakistan. She helped compile an entrepreneurial policy document during Policy Round Table Conference on November 16th, 2012. This document would help and give ways for entrepreneurship to flourish in Pakistan. It was signed by top Pakistani entrepreneurs and policy makers.

She has also actively participated in various workshops and forums related to entrepreneurship. Some of them are global sales strategies for ambitious Pakistani entrepreneurs, young leader’s conference, importance of social media websites, building bridges through business etc.

Sundas has high hopes and aspirations for her future in business and management, frequently touching upon the development sector too. She is keen and eager to learn and contribute to the society and dedicate her services to the development of her country. She has recently been accepted to receive the prestigious Fulbright masters award for the year 2014-2016. She will be leaving for USA in fall 2014 to pursue an MS in Social Entrepreneurship. This opportunity will prove to be a great milestone achieved in her goals to be of service to humanity.
