COLLECTION DEVELOPMENT:

Final Fashion Collection Development was a major project I worked on during graduation. It involved designing and stitching of a clothing line based on a certain theme. It included:

  • Research
  • Making of Mood Boards and Research Boards
  • Designing and Sketching
  • Fashion Illustrations
  • Pattern Making and Draping
  • Sewing
  • Presentation of Final Work

Theme:

Resident Evil is a Hollywood flick supporting a lot of action and thrill. The theme of the movie revolves around fighting and a lot of action and thus rugged and tough costumes made of leather and jeans. The garments in my collection featured above are inspired from Resident Evil. Denim, twill and leather have all been combined together to achieve the look of a tough fighter. The colors black, denim blue and brown further enhances the message. These fabrics are further treated by me to give a more rugged, tougher look that has put originality into my collection. The blue denim has been scraped to fade before filling it up with rivets and the black twill has been bleached to give interesting patterns on the surface before further adding the top stitching effect on it. The brown leather has been given a nice edge decorative stitch. Besides that crazy use of metal zippers and top stitching are major elements of the garments. My whole collection consists of an evening gown, jacket, skirt, tops, short, capris and pant.
